Description

The underground cable splicer will be responsible for safely identifying and cutting copper cables in active underground telecommunications network. This position will report to the Operations Manager for specific field task instructions and safe cutting procedures. This position will require a partner so must be able to work in a team. These tasks consist of safely opening, venting, clearing and entering manholes; setting up toning and testing equipment; safely identifying the correct copper cable to cut using safe cutting processes; cutting the cable using manual hand cutting equipment; tagging the cable and recording all process steps using an electronic tablet data collection system unique to task.
